People with disabilities are victimized by sexual assault at higher rates than the rest of the population. Some victims of sexual abuse are unable to give consent/ report the assault due to health conditions, difficulty communicating, confusion, or memory loss. Our trainings will provide tools to identify signs of abuse. We will express the importance of advocating, being a helpful bystander and being a person’s voice if their disability prevents them to protect themselves.
