This presentation will focus on the fundamentals of group development and facilitation with a special emphasis on the particulars of groups that serve sexual abuse/assault survivors. Items covered are:
Amy Kipp, LMFT: Amy Kipp is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in private practice in San Antonio. She graduated from the University of Iowa was a BA in Psychology in 2006 and from the University of Oregon with M.Ed. in Couples and Family Therapy in 2009. She is a Clinical Fellow with the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapists. Amy is especially interested in working with couples and with trauma survivors. Amy was a Support Group Facilitator for the Sexual Assault Resource Center (SARC) in Beaverton, Oregon for three years. She developed and facilitated a group to address intimacy issues for sexual assault survivors as well facilitated an established, ongoing group for female sexual assault survivors. Since moving to San Antonio, Amy has facilitated a short-term Holiday group for survivors at the RCC. In her free time, Amy enjoys spending time with family and friends, exploring San Antonio, cooking, and hiking with her dog.
